Why we built it

Most online tools ask you to upload your documents and photos to a server you know nothing about, create an account, or pay after a few uses. For something as small as merging two PDFs or shrinking a photo to 50 KB, that is a lot to ask.

ScanYourTool was built to remove that friction. Open a page, use the tool, download the result. No sign-up, no watermarks, and no waiting for an upload.

Our principles

• Private by default: tools run in your browser, so your files and text are not uploaded to us.
• Free without tricks: no sign-up, no watermarks and no paywall after a few uses.
• Built for phones too: every tool is designed to work on a small screen, not just on a desktop.
• Honest about limits: calculators show the formulas they use, and we say so when a result is only an estimate.

• Image tools: compress, resize, crop, convert, rotate, add borders or watermarks, make passport photos, and compress an image to a target file size.

How your privacy is protected

The tools are built to work entirely inside your browser using your device's own processing power. The text you type and the files you select are not sent to our servers, because our tools do not need them to be. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.

What we will never do

• Upload your files or text to our servers to process them.
• Ask you to create an account to use a tool.
• Add a watermark to your result.
• Place ads inside tool controls, or make you click an ad to get your download.

How the site is funded

ScanYourTool is free to use. To cover hosting and development time we display advertising from Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and kept separate from tool controls, and we do not let advertisers influence how the tools work.

Quality and accuracy

We test each tool before publishing it and fix problems as they are reported. Calculators give estimates based on the formulas shown on each page. They are meant to help you plan, not to replace professional financial, tax, legal or medical advice.
